HCD had a Visit from the Office of the EU Special Representative for the HoA

HCD received Kristin Fedeler (PhD), the Political Advisor at the Office of the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, on February 22, 2024.

Our Executive Director Frew Demeke and the Program Director Yemisrach Kebede met with Dr. Fedeler at HCD office and briefed her about HCD. The discussion expanded in to HCD’s vision and program interventions that aim to nurture the culture of democracy in the Horn of Africa (HoA).

The meeting was also a great opportunity to delve into the upcoming Regional Democracy Conference on the HoA on March 11^th and 12^th, 2024 in Addis Ababa. The Conference will bring together diverse group of researchers, policymakers, academics, representatives of international organization, government and intergovernmental organisations, civil society, and grassroots democracy advocates working on democracy and governance in the HoA region for a research informed dialogue, sharing best practices to tackle shared challenges on the path to a stronger and more inclusive democracies.
