HCD welcomed to our office, Professor Mohammed Salih, a Sudanese scholar of Political Science currently an Emeritus Professor at the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam and, formerly, Special Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Leiden University, The Hague.

During his visit, the Center presented its ongoing programs in Ethiopia and across the Horn of Africa, including plans for the establishment of a Regional Policy Reference Group where scholars of political science will engage. This initiative will bring together peacebuilding, human rights, climate justice and democracy scholars and practitioners in the region to engage in knowledge generation and directly inform policy dialogue.

The visit concluded with a shared understanding on the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration, and the need to explore future areas of engagement that align with the Center’s mission and regional priorities.
