Horn Center for Democracy (HCD) collaborated with Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) and Amani Africa in the organization of a roundtable on ‘Preventing Violent Extremism through Transitional Justice Interventions’. The discussions went over the course of two days on 15^th and 16^th April, 2024.

In her welcoming speech, our Program Director Yemisrach Kebede, introduced HCD and its undertakings so far. She reiterated the need to re-evaluate the significance of strengthening democracy dispensation as part of a political reform in a transitional justice process to ensure non-recurrence of violent extremism. Moreover, as part of her contribution to the roundtable, she presented a concept note to initiate further discussions and gather inputs on-Preventing Violent Extremism by Leveraging the Implementation of the AUTJP to Enhance Democratization Processes in the HoA Region.
