HCD Collaborated with IJR and Amani Africa in Organizing a Roundtable on ‘Preventing Violent Extremism Through Transitional Justice Interventions’

Horn Center for Democracy (HCD) collaborated with Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) and Amani Africa in the organization of a roundtable on ‘Preventing Violent Extremism through Transitional Justice Interventions’. The discussions went over the course of two days on 15th and 16th April, 2024.

In her welcoming speech, our Program Director Yemisrach Kebede, introduced HCD and its undertakings so far. She reiterated the need to re-evaluate the significance of strengthening democracy dispensation as part of a political reform in a transitional justice process to ensure non-recurrence of violent extremism. Moreover, as part of her contribution to the roundtable, she presented a concept note to initiate further discussions and gather inputs on-Preventing Violent Extremism by Leveraging the Implementation of the AUTJP to Enhance Democratization Processes in the HoA Region.
